Abstract
- The article reports on the decline in unemployment claims in the U.S. amidst the worsening cases of coronavirus infections as of November 2020. According to Grant Thornton chief economist Diane Swonk, the number of laid-off and furloughed employees filing for unemployment insurance is still high. Also cited are the data from the Labor Department on the applications for state benefits and the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program.
