- Focuses on the remarks of New York City Michael Bloomberg regarding the death of 7-month old Matthew Perilli, an unattended baby who suffocated at a Queens day care center in August 2004 an hour after two city inspector left without noticing any signs of trouble. Bloomberg's view that Perilli probably would have been dead regardless of whether the inspectors were guilty of any lapses; Conflict between Bloomberg's conclusion and the circumstances described by health commissioner Dr. Thomas R. Frieden; Ruling that the boy's death was a homicide.
