Abstract

CMV laryngitis has been sporadically reported in immunocompromised patients after solid organ transplantation (SOT) and/or hematopoietic SCT and in those with acquired immunodeficiency diseases (Table S1). Laryngeal biopsy revealed lymphocytic infiltration with CMV infection, leading to the diagnosis of proven CMV laryngitis (Fig. Meanwhile, immunodeficiency against CMV-infected cells led to persistent CMV infection in the larynx of patient 1. According to the large-scale analysis of chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis disease caused by I STAT1 i GOF mutations, eight of 274 patients had uncontrolled CMV viremia and six had proven CMV disease, including three with CMV lung infection [[11]].
