Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the regional planning process of the Public HIV/AIDS Policy in a Health Region of northeastern Brazil. This work consisted of a descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, conducted with managers from 13 municipalities in a health region in northeastern Brazil. A questionnaire adapted according to Dantas was used as a data collection instrument, containing 05 open questions, analyzed from Bardin's content analysis. Four areas of discussion were contemplated: 1 - Knowledge of the health reality, 2 - Specialized Care Service, 3 - Quality of care and, 4 - Regional planning. The managers reported knowing the people living with HIV/AIDS in their territory and stated that they did not carry out the planning of the PN-IST/AIDS. It was identified that care for people with HIV/AIDS is not prioritized as the need of the region and that its planning does not occur. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
