Abstract

Considering that due to the growing competitiveness in the current market, companies must seek continuous improvement to remain active. An important point is to have a competitive price for its products and to achieve this goal the company must reduce its production costs. This article seeks to present a strategic management proposal for reducing logistical costs through the Milk Run method, used to optimize the route, collecting parts from suppliers and returning empty packages. For this, an applied research was carried out, with an exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach, through the Google Maps website, through the application of the Milk Run method to reduce logistical costs of a multinational company operating in the automobile sector. In this way, a budget was made for the new route together with the carrier used by the industry, where the associations made between the new and old routes allowed to indicate which ones should be adopted, as well as the financial gains shown numerically through the indicators. This allowed us to conclude that it is necessary for organizations that intend to remain active in the market and who want success, to have the ability to better control the company's processes that influence production costs and thus guaranteeing sustainability and continuity in operations.
