Abstract

The study of flotation interaction between andalusite and quartz found that when the pH value is 8 and the dosage of FeCl$ * 6H2O is 20 mg/L and the dosage of sodium oleate is 150 mg/L? with the interaction distance between the andalusite and quartz particles is smaller,the negative value of the total E DLVO potential energy is larger ?indicating that the force of each grade of quartz and different grades of andalusite is attractive,and there is an adhesive cover between each other. Microscopic observations further verified that adhesion between andalusite and quartz did occur. The main effect form of the interactive effect of andalusite and quartz flotation is the mutual adhesion cover between minerals ? including fine grained quartz,it can adhere to coarse grained andalusite? which is represented by the slime cover?fine grained andalusite can adhere to coarse grained quartz,fine grained andalusite can adhere to and aggregate with fine grained quartz. In the sodium oleate system ? citric acid can be used to effectively weaken the adhesion and cover between quartz and andalusite. The better effect of citric acid on the separation of andalusite and quartz is concentrated at -- 106 + 45 ptm and -- 45 + 18 ptm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
