Abstract

The article discusses a study on the association between health providers' (HP) postpartum copper intrauterine device (PPIUD) service experience and the discontinuation and expulsion of IUD in Nepal. Results include the high likelihood of IUD expulsion after a vaginal birth, the difference between deliberate discontinuation and expulsion, and the characteristics of women that were associated with IUD discontinuation including age and ethnicity.
