Stand und Perspektiven der Historischen Grundwissenschaften: Kaiser- und Königsurkunden.

The presentation of the current state of research concerning royal and imperial charters of the Early and High Medieval Period proceeded on the basis of five main points: new editions, external features, influence of issuers and recipients on the production of the charters, spectrum of importance of these charters at the time of their issuing, relevance of the documents for later generations. Concerning the perspectives of further research, some topics for future fundamental research as well as the comparison of charters in interregional, European and intercontinental contexts were suggested.
