Abstract

His research interests include geomorphology, coastal change, palaeoclimatology and weather history, and he has published widely on the science of coasts and sea level change. In Chapters 7-10, which focus on long-term sea level change, Dawson clearly demonstrates how the melting of Earth's last great ice sheets is still making an important contribution to the present patterns of sea level change. This introduction to sea level change might not answer every question we could ask, but it is a superb overview that gives a balanced account of the current understanding of the complexities of sea level change.
