Abstract

In this paper, we analyze the relationship between air anion concentration( AAC) and temperature and between AAC and humidity in five forest types at the same altitude from 6: 00 to 18: 00. The paper also shows the above mentioned relationships for evergreen broad-leaved forests at four different altitudes in Wuchaoshan National Forest Park. The results showed that AAC is higher in evergreen broad-leaved and deciduous broad-leaved forests than in other forest types. Additionally, daily AAC variations in the five forest types are unimodal in the autumn. As the altitude increases, the AAC generally decreases in the autumn, except in November. The AAC is positively associated with humidity and inversely correlated with temperature for three months in evergreen broad-leaved forests. However, these relationships are not uniform in other forest types and present monthly differences. In conclusion, the study shows that forest types, altitude gradients, and seasonal changes significantly impact forest AAC levels by changing the temperature and humidity conditions within the forest.
