Abstract

Soil environmental pollution is a problem experienced by urban renewal areas during the process of transformation and development, and it is also an important factor in city planning. Based on research on survey accuracy, monitoring index systems, and evaluation methods, this study constructed a soil environment survey and suitability evaluation method for urban renewal areas. It solved the problem that the monitoring data and evaluation do not match the city planning requirements. Through the application demonstration in an old industrial zone in Shanghai, we learned that the soil environment quality in the demonstration zone was mainly affected by silver, cadmium, chromium, molybdenum, lead, antimony, zinc, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and total petroleum hydrocarbons. The suitability evaluation results show that the northern area of the demonstration site was mainly classified as Class I and Class II, while the southern area was mainly classified as Class II and Class III. This research can serve as a reference for urban planning and industrial layout optimization in the demonstration area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
