The article analyzes how relevant issues regarding Paraguay's condition after the Triple Alliance War (1870–1876) were used as a tool in political fight between nationalists and autonomists during Argentinean presidential campaign of 1873 and 1874. It mentions that the conflict, Paraguay's occupation and remained issues from that incident were used by autonomist faction as a strategy in the electoral local fight against nationalism; and newspapers from Buenos Aires have been consulted, once they were the main channel of political debates and promoters of representations.
