Qi deficiency and blood stasis is one of the key pathogeneses of atherosclerosis in the stable period. In the acute episode，atherosclerosis is often characterized by abrupt onset? rapid progress and multiple changes in clinical manifestations. It is similar to the wind pattern in TCM，which is difficult to be fully interpreted from the perspective of qi deficiency and blood stasis. Therefore，in this article the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis of u qi deficiency and blood stasis as the basis, and being further induced by wind" is put forward, which would possibly be the key pathogenesis affecting the progression and outcome of atherosclerosis.
