Abstract

The aim of this psycho-social descriptive cross-sectional study was to characterize the changes in content and structure of the "right to work". We used a sample of children aged between 8 and 12, and explored it through Piaget's clinical method in Bucaramanga (Colombia). It was found that this understanding is an increasingly complex process since the children do not completely understand the idea of "right and have-to", which is based on a reward and punishment logic. Afterwards this understanding goes through a justice perception, which involves a moralistic perspective of the "good and bad" concepts. A normative comprehension stage follows; in which it is focused as a rule. At the end it comes a legalistic understanding stage, with a clearer representation of their individuality and their sense of self-protection. It is proposed to carry out studies with broader samples, allowing comparisons and new approaches to be made on the subject. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
