Abstract

The article presents a study on the activity of the Hippo pathway coactivator Yorkie (Yki) that causes overgrowth in the imaginal discs of Drosophila to examine how cancer cells develop. Based on the results, Yki can reprogram cell fates and develop compartment-boundary-like interactions at clone margins. Also mentioned are the roles of chromatin regulator Taranis and microribonucleic acid (microRNA) bantam in the promotion of anterior selector gene cubitus interruptus (ci) expression.
