Abstract

A nonlinear 3D biochemical system for the enzymatic reaction of a substrate and two products is considered. The system represented bistability regimes with coexisting equilibrium and limit cycle, as well as birhythmicity with two coexisting cycles. An effect of substrate input rate stochastic fluctuations on these diverse regimes was investigated. The model demonstrated stochastic generation of complex mixed-mode spiking oscillatory regimes and transitions between initial deterministic attractors. Direct numerical simulations method and statistical analysis were used for the study of noise-induced phenomena. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
