- B Author Information b An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is: * death * life-threatening * hospitalisation * disability * congenital anomaly * other medically important event An 82-year-old woman developed dehydration during treatment with furosemide and hyponatraemia during treatment with sacubitril/valsartan [ I routes not stated i ]. At that time, blood test showed sodium concentration of 139 mmol/L. After 2 weeks of discontinuation of furosemide, she presented to the emergency department disoriented, confused and with swollen ankles. However, she exhibited a sodium concentration of 130 mmol/L (hyponatraemia) and a BNP concentration of 7980 pg/mL. [Extracted from the article]
