MOBILE MEASUREMENTS OF BLACK CARBON FOR SOURCE APPORTIONMENT STUDIES.

A new method for mobile measurements of black carbon (BC) concentration measurements is presented in this paper. An advanced pocket-sized aethalometer with 5 wavelengths and dual-spot technology was used. Different measurement locations were selected to evaluate the contribution of car emissions and biomass burning emissions during the winter campaign in heavily polluted urban environments. A model based on the Angstrom exponent is proposed for source apportionment studies.
