Abstract

This article offers a review of Michel Henry's phenomenology of life and its relation to Husserl's concept of intentionality. It begins with the latter's view of the phenomenology of life before passing to an examination of Henry's concepts of life, selfdonation, self-revelation, truth, originary or absolute body, etc. The thesis is that Henry does not offer an inversion of intentionality, in the strict sense, but rather an "absorption in itself".
