Echoing various controversies on gender and race that have arisen in the French political arena in recent years, minority knowledge has faced a new wave of strong resistance. By analyzing the rhetorical persistence of anti-minority discourse as well as its current specificities (opposition to the so-called “gender theory”, rejection of the category of race), the article shows the ongoing relevance of Colette Guillaumin’s ideas today in analyzing the rationale and stakes of this offensive. Throughout her work, Guillaumin has been engaged in reflecting on the oppositions raised by minority voices and has helped to forge the concepts targeted by the current attacks (minority, race, racization).
