Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, which proposed determining the association between gender violence and posttraumatic stress disorder in Peruvian women. The sample consisted of 105 women who were treated in the Division of Legal Medicine II of the province of Santa (Peru). For the collection of information, two instruments were used that were subject to validity and reliability, gender violence was measured by a questionnaire consisting of 20 items, and post-traumatic stress disorder by a questionnaire of 16 items. The results show that 56.2% of women attacked have mild violence and 61.9% have no symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder. Finally, a significant high association was found between gender violence and posttraumatic stress disorders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
