Abstract

We report on the synthesis of CoWO4 nanoparticles by co-precipitation technique. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of phase pure wolframite type CoWO4. The characteristic vibrational information of CoWO4 was obtained through FT-IR measurement. The annealing temperature induced increase in optical energy band gap (2.33- 2.67 eV) of CoWO4 nanoparticles was observed. The photoluminescence bands at 438 and 490 nm realized the radiative transition of [WO4]2- tetrahedral group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
