Due to the short technical research period in the early stage, many single or special designs issues for Sanhekou Hydro-Junction have limited the process of constructing, such as the insufficient depth, unreality and environmental barriers. In the bidding and constructing stage, the proprietor unit standard from the overall situation and optimized the whole design in time. The optimization indicates that they have shortened the construction duration for 13 months and saved the investor for more than 70 millions Yuan, meanwhile it have improved the construction management efficiency dramatically. This paper analyzed and summarized the construction organization and design optimization results of Sanhekou water Conservancy project from the aspects of concrete mixing system, traffic scheme, slag field, raw material dam foundation excavation, etc. which provided useful reference for similar- engineering constructions.
