Abstract

The dispersibility of carbon nano tubes (CNT) has a decisive influence on the electrical h eating performance of electro-heating paper. In this paper, sodium dodecyl sulfate ( SDS) was used as a surfactant, the dispersion of carbon nano tubes and the dispersion stability of the blended slurry were characterized, respectively. And compound paper was prepared and characterized. Furthermore, we fabricated the compound electro-heating paper and characterized its performance. The results show that when the SDS concentration was 0. 04 wt %, the Zeta potential of the CNT dispersion was - 40. 1 m V, and its dispersibility and stability were excellent. When the input power was 1. 5 W, the paper can be quickly heat ed to 120 °C in 16 s. Electro-heating paper-based material exhibits excellent mechanical performance, electrical performance, heat resistance and electro-heating performance, which makes it the promising candidate to be applied in industrial heating and warmth retention.
