Abstract

This paper presents studies on the thermal properties of the rare earth ion Pr3+ doped lead boro-tellurite (75PbO – (24-x) B2O3 –xTeO2– 1Pr2O3) glass systems which are highly suitable for fiber materials for non-linear applications like, laser, sensor, amplifiers etc. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis of the samples depicts the amorphous nature of glass. Glass transition (Tg) temperature and the crystallization temperatures (Tc) are determined using differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) technique. Results on XRD and DSC show that the investigated glasses are stable in nature. The stability of the glass is found to increase with the addition of TeO2 mole%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
