What is the state of animation research in Brazil today? This was the question that mobilized us to interview six Animation researchers, from different university institutions and with the most diverse relations with the field of Animation. The interviews were conducted by e-mail - due to the corona virus pandemic - and also because of the geographical location of each one, which would not allow the face-to-face interview. In this interview, they present an overview of the situation of research in Animation in Brazil today; talk about the authors with whom they dialogue; present the main lines of research in Brazil and in the world; show how digital technology has expanded the presence of Animation in other areas such as live-action cinema, visual arts and advertising; and point out some perspectives for the field of animation in the coming years.
