Abstract
- The article advises clinicians about the medicolegal issues surrounding medical cannabis (MC) in the U.S. An overview of the history of MC is provided. Topics mentioned include the areas of variation in MC legislations in U.S. states, the restriction on gun ownership for users of medical marijuana, and the legal risks facing physicians for recommending marijuana for treating a condition including malpractice and criminal charges.
