In the study of the feminine, various approaches are entwined, with both relative discrepancies and overlapping. Therefore, this paper is aimed at discussing the relevance of some specific Freudian concepts that have been reasonably called into question in our culture, yet can be of value as a foundation of the theory, psychopathology and clinical psychology. As the vocational choice emerges from, and is a reflection of, the identification fabric underlying it, at the end of the text an example is included to illustrate the conflicts that arise between gender, sexual, and partial identifications.
