Abstract

This article presents information about Congressman Major Owens who won the Democratic primary elections in Brooklyn. Political pundits were shaking their heads in disgust over the low turnout in the Democratic primary. It's unclear which candidates benefited from the low voter turnout, but in Brooklyn the most talked about race was the bitter battle between Owens and his three opponents, who hail from politically prominent families. Owens had garnered 13,536 or 44 percent to Councilwomen Yvette D. Clark, 8,993 or 29 percent.
