Looks into the dynamics of local automorphisms of embedded CR-manifolds. Emphasis on a classical theorem, which states that the ball is the unique strictly pseudoconvex bounded domain having a noncompact automorphism group; Consideration of the case of an indefinite Levi form at the origin; Contractibility of a point if its is contractible under the sequence of iterations of an automorphism.
