Abstract
- Recent theoretical and methodological postulates in the field of foreign language teaching point to language mediation as a "fifth skill". It is, therefore, an integrated skill that must be developed in students as well as reception and production skills, if we are to create not only linguistically competent speakers, but also social agents who know how to deal with in various intercultural contexts. In this paper, we intend to address the pedagogical effectiveness of linguistic mediation in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE), making a contribution to the evaluation process of a task of oral linguistic mediation between related languages (Spanish-Italian) in the field of secondary and university education. Thus, after providing a theoretical and methodological framework regarding the development of the mediation activity, we will elaborate a suitable pattern to evaluate the student's performance [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
