Abstract

The article discusses ways to make grading more meaningful. Topics discussed include providing multiple grades for each subject area or course on students' report cards as standards based approaches to education, issues associated with implementing meaningful grading reform, three major types of grading criteria in reporting student performance and grading and reporting as challenge in effective communication rather than being a simple task of quantifying data on students' performance.
