Abstract
- The fracture mechanism of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnet was analyzed from the perspective of crystallology. The fracture is observed at the interface between the Nd 2 Fe 14 B main phase (MP) and the thin Nd-rich grain boundary phase (TGBP). The determined angle mismatch and lattice mismatch between the MP and TGBP phase indicate an incoherent interface boundary, weakening the binding force between the MP and TGBP. • The fracture site is mainly located at the interface between the main phase and the thin grain boundary phase. • The phase boundary structure between the main phase and grain boundary phase is incoherent phase boundary structure. • The coupling degree between the TGBP and the MP is low.
