Abstract

Studying the deformation trend of concrete dams is of great significance for judging the deformation state of dams and ensuring dam safety. In view of the obvious nonlinear characteristics of the deformation curve of concrete dams, the fractal interpolation theory was introduced. First, the fractal dimension of the concrete dam deformation time series was identified by the fractal dimension and then a prediction model of the deformation trend was established based on the fractal interpolation function. Taking the deformation of a concrete dam section as an example, the fractal interpolation method was used to predict the deformation trend of a horizontal displacement at a certain elevation of the dam section and compared with the prediction result of the statistical model. The results show that the fractal interpolation method can better fit the deformation curve, characterize the dam deformation characteristics and provide a new idea for the analysis of the deformation evolution trend of concrete dams.
