Abstract
- The objective of this paper is to propose a method for quantitatively estimating the breakdown voltage of double short vacuum gaps in series under the lightning impulse voltage. The study found a quantitative relationship between the breakdown voltage and the maximum electric field strength at the cathode. This relationship is validated by previous experimental works when the total gap distance is less than 20 mm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
