Abstract

The authors comment on the article "Vexing, Veiled, and Inequitable" by Amy Fairchild and colleagues, which analyzed social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic through a rights framework. Topics discussed include argument that the ethical reasoning is consistent with the long-recognized harm principle, proposed re-interpretation of the harm principle, and way individuals and households assume responsibilities and risk contributing to harms.
