Abstract

Recently, the concept of unreported employment which is one of the main problems of developing countries has become a difficult issue to be resolved also for Turkey. The purpose of this study is, to explore the reasons for unreported employment in Turkey and identify the factors that increase employment by making a comparative analysis between Level 2 Regions. The data for this study, consisted of responses of the 2015 Household Work Force survey conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institution and a binary logistic regression was applied to analyze the data. As a result of the findings obtained from the study, it was determined that there was a statistically significant relationship between unregistered employment and variables such as gender, education level, marital status, workplace sector, number of employees, mode of employment and business continuity and it was also concluded that these variables have different effects on each region.
