The acting of the dental surgeon can be very important in the attention and care of the hospitalized patient and represents an achievement for dentistry to be present in the hospital and participate in the multiprofessional team, so that interacting with professionals from other areas makes it possible to know the patientcomprehensive care and have a more efficient assistance. The objective was to systematize the dental surgeon's experience at the Multiprofessional Residency in Health in a highly complex hospital. Experience report developed from March 2017 to April 2019. Used participant observation and notes in the field diary to record and systematize the experience. It was possible to demonstrate that it is necessary to further strengthen hospital dentistry so that it is recognized as a relevant area for health care and as an opportunity of practice field for the dental surgeon.
