An efficient and scalable approach for the synthesis of piperazine based glitazone and its derivatives.

A versatile and efficient synthetic approach has been developed for the synthesis of piperazine based glitazones analogous to Lobeglitazone. Desired compounds were synthesized with good yields by alkylation of piperazine substrate with various carbonyl compounds.
