- The article offers information on quantum Hall effect is a macroscopic phenomenon involving electric current across a conducting surface that exhibits quantization. It mentions that mathematician James Clerk Maxwell declared that a conducting material with current flowing through it will bend because of the magnetic force on the material, not on the current in the presence of a magnetic field.
