Through the guidance for carbon accounting in coastal wetlands provided in the upcoming IPCC supplement, the responsibilities and benefits of improved coastal wetland management for national governments are clearer. The Wetland Supplement is due to be delivered at the end of 2013, thereby providing guidance to national governments on reporting carbon emissions and sequestration for land-use transitions in coastal wetlands. Overall, successful wetland conservation is a product of the property rights and other institutions that define access to wetland resources [13]. [Extracted from the article]
