Abstract
- The article discusses the strategies to address HIV infection in marginalized communities in Vancouver with targeted outreach, education, and point-of-care testing. Topics include HIV-infected People who use drugs (PWUD) face additional challenges associated with suboptimal therapeutic outcomes with delayed antiretroviral treatment (ART) initiation that may lead to disease progression and death; and education-based interventions have shown promise in reducing stigma as well as risk behaviors.
