Abstract

Offers a paper presented at a congress of experts on global health and health policies which was held at Trinity College in Cambridge, UK. Consideration of everyday bioethics as opposed to bioethics tied up with technological advances in medicine; Examples where the two forms of bioethics collide; Argument for universal principles in bioethics which calls for equal dignity of every individual and equity of life, disease and death; How current systems tend towards thinking of health as a value rather than a right; Efforts of global communities to address this thinking; Contention that the policy of the U.S. in Iran proves the contradiction between thought and effort in today's world; Belief that the future of health and health policies is connected to the resolutions of the frequent contradictions found between policies and efforts.
