Exploration of moral values as they impact public health policies; Use of ethics and moral values to mobilise support for global health initiatives; Presentation of four schools of moral thought used to justify health programmes; Humanitarianism, utilitarianism, equity and rights; Definition of each school of morality; Influence that the selection of information has on ethical assessments of programmes; Different ways that moral values can support global health initiatives.
