Four Futures of Reality.

This article examines the futures of the public sphere and shared reality as a commons, examining the forces that have led to an epistemological crisis. Using a commons perspective, actor network theory and causal layered analysis, dimensions of the epistemological crisis are explored and reframed, providing four scenarios with accompanying metaphors: the gladiatorial pit, the re-education camp, the boarding school, and the permaculture garden. The article concludes with a call to action to integrate universalist and pluralist sciences and knowledges. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
