- The article discusses the history of women driving cars and the social challenges they confront. Also cited are the personalities who objected against women motorists like novelist Lady Violet Greville, the rage over a woman cyclist in Great Britain in the mid-1890s, and the efforts by motoring journals to promote motor-driving as a glamorous and safe feminine activity.
