Abstract

Introduction: Attention to diversity is a fundamental field within educational and social inclusion in schools. Objective: Analyze the influence of the Support Classroom of a rural infant and primary education school on the social conception that the group of peers in the reference classroom have of those students with different capacities attending the school. Materials and methods: The study lasted one academic year and analyzed a sociometric map of nine classes from infant level of four-year-old children up to sixth grade in primary school. Results: The results show the isolation of these pupils within the participative dynamics of their peers at an emotional level. Conclusions: It is necessary to transform classrooms into spaces where the diversity of the student is valued, promoting their participation, presence and progress, and by encouraging affective and emotional skills.
