Abstract
- Felt is considered as the oldest known textile surface of the cultural heritage that is passed down from generation to generation. Among the handicrafts that are being consumed, felting is tried to be carried to today with different and contemporary interpretations. In this study, original designs have been realized by inspiring from the lights created by electrically charged particles that enter the world atmosphere in the North and South Globes. This natural phenomenon, known as the northern lights, is considered as a theme. The raw material used in the design is 100% wool fiber dyed in yellow, light green, dark green, purple and dark blue colors. Auxiliary materials are purified water, white soap, felt needles, 100% silk fabric and American service. Wet and dry felt methods were preferred for felt production. The dimensions of the felts are A4 (297 * 210 mm) and they are re-shaped as garment accessories. As a result, the transfer of culture was carried out by introducing felt-making handicrafts, which are among the forgotten handicrafts, to young kits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
