Abstract

This article addresses the parabolic teaching of Jesus, as recorded in the Synoptic Gospels, especially analyzing the parables that present individuals being excluded from the Kingdom of God. The images of exclusion present in these narratives, involving elements such as closed doors, fire, darkness, gnashing of teeth and declaration of rejection, reveal the reasons why individuals were left out of the Kingdom. The basis of eschatological separation is determined beforehand, which is persevering faith in Jesus. The announcement of the tragic end of unbelievers would be intended to impress upon the hearers and those who would later be brought into contact with this burning message, the fear that leads to repentance and faith, and the emphasis on security from obedience warns believers to persevere. in the faith and obedience to which they have already committed themselves as they enter the Kingdom.
