The article is dedicated to geologists who died unexpectedly in their prime. A geologist is not only a profession, but it is a way of thinking and a way of life. The biographies of 16 specialists describe not only their contribution to science, but also, if possible, the person himself, how he was, which time he lived, what events influenced his fate and the fate of people close to him, and also under what circumstances he was killed in an accident.
